May 2010 update:
Well, 2010 has been GREAT! Recently, my composition, When an Angel Flies Away, has been used internationally
by Kaiser Permanente, and my instrumental composition, Byrd Thing, is to be used in an upcoming production
by Expanded Books, Inc. of Hollywood, CA. My catalog now includes over 85 original pieces,copyrighted,
registered with BMI and published in online musical production libraries throughout the United States,
England, and France. To date, I have produced 8 CD’s of my own material in addition to the 2000
co-written Vietnam Vet Tribute CD.The TOP CATS are once again headed to Magnetawan,
Ontario in late July for the FIFTH ANNUAL Canadian Concert!

September 2009 update:
Well folks, I finished my SIXTH CD in 2009. It's entitled "Ain't Pretty Being Easy".There's a link to it on page
5 of the site (The "BUY CD" page). If you click on the link to the CD, you can sample each of the tunes. Each of
the tunes is also available via digital download from iTunes, iSound, Rhapsody, Amazon, and at least a couple
hundred other places (since almost no one buys physical CD's anymore). And, while we're on the subject,
what's with this capatilizing the SECOND letter of a proper name and using lower case for the FIRST
letter like "iTunes", "iPhone", eBay, etc. !?!? Am I gonna have to start spelling my first name like
"rOger"!?!? Oh well, never mind me. I'm just an old fart set in his ways.
I'm looking forward to a great 4th quarter of 2009.

August 2009 update:
Well, the annual TOP CATS gig in Magneatawan, Ontario was a BLAST! Not only did we have
a great night at the Schmeler on Thursday, July 30th, but we also played on the front
porch of The Pine Lodge on Sunday, August 2nd as a warm up for the Holiday
Fireworks Show across Ahmic Lake on the far shore. What a great time
in Canada!

Hello and welcome to my site. My name is Roger Lehman and I was born to play music.
If I'm not playing music, teaching music, writing music, or recording music, it's
probably because I'm asleep.
I currently live in central Ohio, and when I'm out playing then I live where ever I am.
But the place where I grew up is Upper Sandusky, Ohio in the heart of Wyandot
County. It is the place that made me who I am, and more than anywhere
else on earth, it is the place I call "HOME".
I hope you can stay a while, take a look around, check out the photos,
listen to the tunes, and visit the numerous interesting links.

BIO STUFF 
I was born in February of 1952. My first memory of music was this old 78 rpm record
that my parents had. On one side it had Gene Autry singing "Rudolph The Red Nosed
Reindeer". On the other side it had Guy Mitchell doing a song called "Singing The Blues",
which was actually written by Hank Williams Sr. Oddly enough, I still sing BOTH songs
today. I think of it as kind of paying homage to Gene and Guy for teaching me to sing. I was
raised Catholic and went to a Catholic school for grades 1 through 8. This was back in the
"old days" when you went to church EVERY SINGLE MORNING before school. Also, since
back in the old days, Catholics went to church EVERY SINGLE SUNDAY. I guess you
could say that I learned to sing because I sang EVERY SINGLE MORNING, except
for Saturdays, from the time I was 6 years old on. In the church I went to, you were
required to sing! If you didn't sing, you got your knuckles cracked with a ruler
(Ouch!). Isn't it ironic how, sometimes, the thing you think you hate most in
life eventually turns into the thing you love the most? When I was 6 years
old, I absolutely hated having to stand up straight and tall and bellow out
"Ave Maria" at the top of my lungs. Today, playing guitar or piano, and
bellowing at the top of my lungs is what I absolutely live for! Strange.
I guess the main other things I can tell you about myself are that
I teach Classical Piano, Jazz/Blues Piano, and all styles of
Guitar (Blues, Rock, Country, Folk, Finger Style, etc.).
Besides playing SOLO (Acoustic Guitar, Piano, & Vocal),
I play Piano with the SMALL CHANGE JAZZ DUET,
I play with THE TOP CATS (a Jazz/Blues Quartet),
and I compose and record a lot of original material.
I think that if we can turn off our televisions from
time to time,get out of the house, see a LIVE
performance of ANYTHING ANYWHERE,
interact with each other, TALK to each
other, and LISTEN to each other, then
there might just be hope for us. The
TRUTH is passed from person to
person by people who care about
one another. It doesn't come
from a television network
owned by a corporation
that manufactures
weapons.
