June 2011 update:
Looking forward to a great Summer and hope you all are as well. I'll be playing on a fairly regular basis at SIPS Cafe
in Mount Vernon, Ohio on "4th Tuesdays" of the month with the Poetry Group. Also, I'm looking forward to playing
a Saturday night or 2 up at Bruce's LOVELL MARKET in wonderful Lovell, Ohio. The TOP CATS will once again
be playing our SIXTH ANNUAL show at The Schmeley Inn, Magnetawan, Ontario (Canada) on Thursday
evening, July 28th. Also, since it's a holiday weekend in Ontario (Monday is "Simcoe Day") I wouldn't
be at all surprised if there ended up being a LAKESIDE BACK PORCH CONCERT by the TOP CATS
at the PINE LODGE on a Friday or Saturday early evening. Of course it's the kind of thing
that only the locals would know about, so all you'd really have to do to find out about it
is ASK ANYBODY IN TOWN (ha!).
Take care &and be well - Roger
February 2011 update:
I got to meet and play music with some friends this past Saturday, February 5th at Jack Dixey's annual Winterfest at
Mohican State Park. It was a blast. I'll be at SIPS Cafe, in Mount Vernon on Tuesday, February 22nd with the Poetry
Group from 6:30 to 9:00 PM and hope to start getting out more when the "thaw" cames. My friend Wayne Gleim
and I have been working on some material during this LONG and COLD, shut-in" Winter (video links below).
Take care and be well - Roger
May 2010 update:
Well, 2010 has been GREAT! Recently, my composition, When an Angel Flies Away, has been used internationally
by Kaiser Permanente, and my instrumental composition, Byrd Thing, is to be used in an upcoming production
by Expanded Books, Inc. of Hollywood, CA. My catalog now includes over 85 original pieces, copyrighted,
registered with BMI and published in online musical production libraries throughout the United States,
England, and France. To date, I have produced 8 CD’s of my own material in addition to the 2000
co-written Vietnam Vet Tribute CD.The TOP CATS are once again headed to Magnetawan,

"Don't accept reality, create it!"
Roger Lehman
Hello and welcome to my site. My name is Roger Lehman and I was born to play music.
If I'm not playing music, teaching music, writing music, or recording music, it's
probably because I'm asleep.
I currently live in central Ohio, and when I'm out playing then I live where ever I am.
But the place where I grew up is Upper Sandusky, Ohio in the heart of Wyandot
County. It is the place that made me who I am, and more than anywhere
else on earth, it is the place I call "HOME".
I hope you can stay a while, take a look around, check out the photos,
listen to the tunes, and visit the numerous interesting links.
Thanks for stopping by. ----- Roger
BIO STUFF
I was born in February of 1952. My first memory of music was this old 78 rpm record
that my parents had. On one side it had Gene Autry singing "Rudolph The Red Nosed
Reindeer". On the other side it had Guy Mitchell doing a song called "Singing The Blues",
which was actually written by Hank Williams Sr. Oddly enough, I still sing BOTH songs
today. I think of it as kind of paying homage to Gene and Guy for teaching me to sing.
I went to a Catholic school for grades 1 through 8. I guess you could say that I learned
to sing because I sang EVERY SINGLE MORNING, except for Saturdays, from
the time I was 6 years old on. I play Classical Piano, Jazz/Blues Piano, and
all styles of Guitar (Blues, Rock, Country, Folk, Finger Style, etc.).
Besides playing SOLO (Acoustic Guitar, Piano, & Vocal),
I play Guitar & Piano with keyboardist Wayne Gleim
I play with The TOP CATS (a Jazz/Blues Quartet),
and I compose and record a lot of original material.
I think that if we can turn off our televisions from
time to time, get out of the house, see a LIVE
performance of ANYTHING ANYWHERE,
interact with each other, TALK to each
other, and LISTEN to each other, then
there might just be hope for us. The
TRUTH is passed from person to
person by people who care about
one another. It doesn't come
from a television network
owned by a corporation
that manufactures
weapons.
